The University of Central America is one of the best postsecondary institutions in Central America.  It is a private and Catholic institution in the tradition of liberation theology. Its majors and its research interests focus on transforming injustice in Salvadoran society. On the campus sits the Monsenor Romero Center, which pays homage to the martyred Archbishop and now Saint. The museum also pays tribute to the six Jesuit priests who were murdered on the UCA campus in 1989. A garden filled with tributes to their lives honors their memory.
