Salvadoran Archbishop Oscar Romero is a national hero for the people of El Salvador. He was murdered in 1980 and canonized by the Vatican in 2018.  He was an advocate of peace and injustice.  He spoke out against poverty and social injustices against the indigenous people by the Salvadoran government.
