The Museum of the Revolution
El Museo de la Revolucion, The Museum of the Revolution, is a compilation of photos and artifacts from the Civil War in El Salvador (officially 1980-1992)
06
The Museum of the Revolution, two cottage-size buildings surrounded by dense forest, contained myriad artifacts of daily life impacted by ongoing war and the detritus of war. We were drawn to the stories of ordinary children, young adults, including college students, and elders who dedicated themselves to the resistance. The (name of the) museum and the testimonials of those who fought shifted our focus from a war to a revolution. The guides in the museum were once guerilla fighters who risked their lives to fight for the rights of the poor.
